2023: United Utilities to end grouse shooting on its moorlands
England’s largest corporate landowner United Utilities agrees to not renew game bird shooting leases on its 56,000 acres of catchment land across the north west. The water company will perform a review to inform its transition to managing and restoring its moors for water, wildlife and the climate.
